Birthday wishes

Lately I felt in love with collages, so of course I had to make some. This one is a mixture of my ink/ecoline drawing and some textures and paint stains. And of course my favourite vintage aged paper.I love this feeling and look of old and used paper.

Boston Terrier

I am rather cat person than dog person, but there are breeds which just make me smile. One of them is Boston Terrier. Such a nice dog! I've seen them lately live and they are just adorable.
Quite small, but with strong body, so activ and friendly. I've got to know they are great for children and just perfect dog for a family. But they can be stubborn sometimes as well, but well, who isn't.
They don't need lots of work and mainteinance, but of course you have to keep them healthy and tidy.
Definitely I would consider one if I had enough space (big garden) and I didn't travel that much. But maybe some day...
So, I had to draw him :) Pencil illustration digitally coloured.

Autumn Owls digital download

Autmn is here. The air is not that warm anymore, trees are greyish, and there is something about the colours in general - they are slightly dimmed. Indian summer is gone.
These owls are drawn in fall colours which are not saturated and a bit nostalgic in the character.
Autumn owls images are great for decorating autumn themed parties, DIY cards, magnets or pendants.

Before the Sun Burns Us Out

I am very fascinated by Mayan culture, and this was my inspiration for this image. First of all their culture of the Sun, incredible calendar and awareness of the Solar System, and to the contrary worshiping Sun as a God. And of course I love their art, it is amazing art treasure. Such a pity almost all of the Mayan manuscripts got burnt and we can only guess where they had their knowledge from. Great mistery there.
Fashion mixed media collage - hand drawing: ink and colour markers.

Poppy Flowers

Poppies are one of my favourite flowers. I think it is all about the color and summer memories connected. Especially when you see poppies in the village, with lovely golden background of the field crops. And this fabolous red!
These images were drawn with ink and watercolours.
Images are placed on different digital collage sheets and are ready to be printed and used for scrapbooking, embellishment, hand made jewelry or pins. You can find them here as small ovals, squares, big ovals, circles and even vintage styled gift tags  :)

Girl with Diamonds

We all know that girl's best friends are diamonds. We all agree with that. That is why I drawn this girl with all her friends. They might be not typical diamonds, but still.... She has also some feathered friends as well, but they are hiding in this very moment at her back. But they will show up when time comes.
It is a collage mix of my ink drawing and vintage dictionary page from 1923.

Love Monsters

There are different kind of Monsters. These are Love Monsters. They are a bit like Cupids, but more effective. So be aware! They can get you when you don't expect at all.
I drawn these images as nursery print first, but after a while I decided they could go to my digital sheets for crafters as well. First I hand drawn sketches with the characters, and later worked with final shapes and colours with computer. I think they can make pretty cool magnets or badges.
You can find them here as 1 inch circles perfect for magnets, or here as 2 inch circles great as party decors.

Tea Party!

Tea time! I always liked all kitchenwares illustrations. I am also huge fan of green tea, so I decided to go for it and draw teapots. My inspiration came from old fashioned teapots and kettles, but as well from pretty modern scandinavian designs, which I love. As well I always wanted to see the inside of the kettle, so this inspired me to show it in one of the pots :)
For these who like to craft I prepared teapot images as digital collage sheet. They could be used for making cool kitchen magnets or lovely pins or pendants. You can find them in my shop here as circles, and here as squares.

Deep Deep There

This image is the effect of working with two colours: pink and brown. I like this mix since brown is rather a calming colour and he brings some seriousness to the picture, and pink to the contrary is light, funny and not serious at all. All together works well, I think. I used watercolours and ecoline mix.
If someone knows a fish with such colours combination please let me know  - this one is my pure imagination :)

Cliche

My latest drawing brought me to thinking of symbols. I wanted to draw french girl, lovely stylish feminine character. But my main thoughts were: red, white, black, stripes and polka dots. Not too much, and very cliche. And yes, I remembered Carrie Bradshow from 'Sex and the City' when she arrived to Paris. She looked soooo sweet, although when I was in Paris I haven't seen even one girl wearing this type of clothes :)  But we operate with cliches all the time, so I decided to go for it. While drawing, my character became a bit different from my original idea. But I still call her French Girl since I find her very feminine. She does not follow latest trends but chooses what is flattering her. And this is how I understand 'french style'.

The title of the drawing is 'And what now?'

Girls Rule!

Ok, it is so obvious statement, that I feel like saying: water is wet, sun is bright. They do! Even when they are just cartoon characters living on the sheet of paper. Doesn't matter. Girls rule!
There is one big thing girls don't like: to wear the same outfit like their girlfriends. So these little ladies put their beloved dresses on and decided to go out.

You can find these images saved as digital collage sheet for crafters and scrapbookers here.

Lily - digital paper - cut out doll

Meet Lily - Digital Paper Doll. I used to draw hundreds of paper dolls while beeing a kid. And now again, I do the same :) And it is still fun although I'm not a kid or even teenager anymore.
Definintely I spent too much time drawing her, but I couldn't stop myself, I had so much fun.
There are coloring pages in the set to boost creativity, so I think it is pretty cool toy for kids.
You can find her in my shop here.

Music Music

Lately I decided to play with some of my graphics and to present them in another form than digital collage sheets. One of my favourite drawing is girl with headphones - so favourite she became my avatar :)
My other beloved is the collection of oldschool machines. I would like to have and old typewriter, just to put it on the table and look at it :) I used to learn typewriting on real typewriter many, many years ago, and I really enjoyed this. But these times were different and there was no CTRL Z option there.

Spring Rainy Day

Yes, spring is here. And spring showers as well, so I decided to make a compilation of things which I connect with rain. Some of the illustrations are obvious: rainbow, wellies, rainy cloud. But the moustache? Yeah, I just imagined that wet stache and I find it somehow funny. A bit sad looking hanging down, but as well somehow fun. Well.. here they are.

Ancient Egyptian Signs

My todays images are based on beautiful ancient egyptian drawings and designs. I love Ancient Egypt, its incredible history, all mysterious pharaos and of course art. I recommend visiting Neues Museum in Berlin, which is a new home for fantastic collection of egyptian art. And for Nefretete. She was removed from Pergamon Museum and now you can admire her in Neues. I have to say incredible experience.
Even architecture of the renovated museum building is just fantastic, very modern but almost organically connected with the collection. Superb.
If you not going to Berlin in the nearest future :) you can take virtual tour here: http://www.neues-museum.de/nm/index.html?r=vestibuel
